Chick Deviled Eggs
Instructions
- Hard boil eggs then peel
- With a sharp knife, cut the top third off each egg and remove the yolk. Mash the yolks in a bowl and make your favourite deviled egg recipe
- Refill the larger bottom portion of each egg, using a small spoon or piping bag. Mound the top of the filling and cap with the top portion of the egg
- Add a tiny triangle of carrot to each egg for the beak and bits of black olives for the eyes
- Chill at least 30 minutes before serving
Tips
- if you want chicks to stand alone on the plate, cut a thin straight slice from the wider bottom end of each egg OR if you prefer the chicks to nest together on a bed of shredded lettuce then no need to cut the bottoms
- create your own piping bag by cutting the corner off a small zip-lock bag
